POWER POINT ASSIGNMENT “ABOUT ME”

You will create a PowerPoint Presentation with at least 7 slides and at least 5 entries per slide (I hope you enter a lot more!) You can list things or enter paragraphs explaining your goals and dreams, likes and dislikes, and other things about yourself. If you have any questions regarding this program and how to use it, please feel free to ask Mrs. Feld:

1. Select a background of your choice. You can go to Format > Background and select a color of your choice (go to More Colors for more options) or go to Fill Effects and change the texture and/or pattern of your slides or select a picture (you can put pictures of yourself and/or family and friends this way). You can also create a "collage" of pictures in a PowerPoint Slide.

In professional presentations you must use consistency and select the same background throughout. Since this is a “fun project” you can get creative and select different backgrounds. Add animation of your choice and slide transitions (without overdoing it!)

2. You can use Pictures and ClipArt throughout your presentation. If you choose, you can bring pictures from home and download them to your computer and insert them throughout your presentation (or put these pictures as backgrounds or create a "collage" like mentioned above).

3. You need the following slides (add more if you wish):

• Slide No. 1 (Title Slide) “About Me” (or a title of your choice) – Make sure you enter your name on this slide.
• Slide No. 2 “I Am” – Mention here anything you want about yourself. Who are you? Which talents and qualities do you have? (don’t tell me you don’t have talents!) Are you an athlete, a dancer, a singer, an artist, a good friend? Are you a good listener, quiet, extroverted (sociable), good at math (or any other subject)?
• Slide No. 3 “I love” – Mention here people, pets or things YOU LOVE or love to do. Any sports, music, arts and crafts, travel, etc. Favorite things...
• Slide No. 4 “I Want” – What do you want? What are your dreams? Your goals? Think about things you want or would like to do or have.
• Slide No. 5 “I don’t like” – What don’t you like? Spiders? Bugs? Dishonest people? What really bothers you? Mention a few things that drive you crazy.
• Slide No. 6 “Someday I will” – Mention things you want to do in the future; things you want to do with your life. More dreams! A positive statement about things you will do or have one day – affirmations!
• Slide No. 7 “Favorite Quote(s)” – Enter one (or more) of your favorite quotes here. You can search online for quotes and pick one or more that you like.

4. GET CREATIVE! Put transitions throughout your presentation. Some animation (not extreme – do not overdo it) so that your titles move and catch the attention of the viewers.

5. You can help each other while working quietly. This is an individual assignment. I know you can do a great job!

When completed, you will print your presentation as "handouts" - 6 per page. When you go to File > Print you must select "handouts" under "Print what:" and "Grayscale" under "Color/grayscale:" . You will also save your presentation in the server under the Keyboarding Folder for your Period. Ask Mrs. Feld if you have any questions. Thanks! Enjoy!
