Christmas Project & January 2011

In December 2010 you were working on the SBA Christmas Project ("Creating a Business" - Stocking Stuffers, Inc. or other). You created Logos, Business Cards, Letterheads, Coloring Pages, Wrapping Papers, Flyers, and Photo Cards. When you come back from your Christmas Vacation (January 2011) you'll work on the "Newsletter." You can create this Newsletter together in your group (you don't have to work individually). Make sure you discuss your ideas together and decide "together" how your newsletter will look and which information will be included. I hope you had a great time during the Holiday Season and New Year! I hope the year 2011 brings you happy memories and all the best!

This newsletter must be in one page only. Please delete the extra pages in Publisher - all you have to do is right-click with your mouse and select "Delete Page" (YOU MUST DELETE PAGES 2 & 3 AND 4). You can use one of the templates in Publisher > under Publications for Print > Newsletters if you wish, and customize it to your liking. Check the instructions for more information on how to create your newsletter.

A newsletter is informative and is a good way for small businesses to keep in touch with loyal customers. A newsletter is a document, periodically published, that informs, announces, reminds, advises, instructs, advertises, and communicates. Your logo should be inserted in your newsletter. You can also add pictures of the products you sell, items for sale, and/or a picture of Santa with children that visit your shop, or other pictures (like employees of the month, Christmas contests, etc.) - check the Internet for samples of newsletters to get better ideas on how to create yours.

The month of January 2011 you will continue working on your Keyboarding Skill Builder Lessons. Remember: you must first complete all these lessons with Focus: Accuracy, and then repeat all of them Focus: Speed. You must work efficiently and take the lessons seriously in order to improve your typing skills - don't forget to use the ergonomic tips learned and to use "good posture." Your Second Quarter grade will reflect your work and dedication. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask Mrs. Feld. We will also start learning Excel and work on some Excel exercises, creating tables and graphs, and learning simple formulas.
