Keyboarding Games
Hi girls! Time flies and I haven't had the chance to write in our Blog. My apologies... The good news is: I found some great websites with Typing Games. I would like to start trying these websites with my Keyboarding Classes on Fridays. For starters, please go to http://www.sense-lang.org/typing/ and select "Typing Games." There you can start with the "Chameleon Game" - check it out; it's a lot of fun and will help you type better. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
You can also try the other games and find your favorite one!
At this time you're still working on the "About Me" PowerPoint. My goal with this exercise is to remind you and teach you how to use the PowerPoint Program and also to help you think about who you are, which things you like and don't like, your goals and dreams, and hopefully help you a little bit to be more in touch with yourself. I feel that in this day and age (our digital world), many times we lose track of who we really are. We lose touch with our passions and desires, we get too distracted and even lose "ourselves." Try to remember how important it is to be in touch with your feelings, and also to try your best to be positive and remain positive no matter what. Our actions, attitudes, intentions and thoughts are VERY IMPORTANT! I personally feel that we ultimately are the creators of our life (with God's help). Of course we need the support of others, parents, relatives, friends, teachers, guardian angels, etc. But at the end, it is our life, and we must create the best possible life for us and learn our lessons. There are tons of great books, websites and information out there; so, try to find time to explore new horizons, read a lot, write in a journal or blog, keep an open mind and follow Jiminy Cricket's advice: "When your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme," and "Always let your conscience be your guide." Don't ever become your worst enemy (with negative thoughts and attitudes).
I'm hoping that this project is completed the week of October 18th. This will help your First Quarter Grade. We also had a Quiz on October 14th covering Lessons 1 - 10; I will give you these quizzes next week. I will also give you a grade for your Binders (make sure your lessons are in order) and Participation/Dedication/Technique. My goal is that most of you get B's, B-'s, B+'s, A-'s and A's.
You can also continue working on Lessons 11 - 20. Remember: if you need to repeat Lessons, it's okay! I need you to develop good typing skills. The more you practice, the better you'll get at it. It's essential that you concentrate on ACCURACY during the First and Second Quarters; then, later on, you can start concentrating on SPEED. Check your Performance Graphs and Summary Reports often, to see how you're doing - I check these to grade you and see your improvement. Also, don't forget good posture and good technique; these will help you type better and more comfortably.
